CULTURAL EXCHANGE!

CULTURAL EXCHANGE is a journey through the history of nations who won a fight against Communism. The programme for CULTURAL EXCHANGE section, focuses on the common experience of regaining the freedom of four countries: Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, and exploring their historical similarity.
The programme presents selected films which put stress on the main historical movements in V4 countries — 1939, 1956, 1968, 1989, 1990.

The section is accompanied with the special guests from Slovakian Film Institute, Cinefest and Brno 16 and also from Czech Centre. Dušan Hanák, one of the most important Slovak filmmaker will be the special guest of the round table discussion after the screening of his film Paper heads. He awarded Special Crystal Globe for Outstanding Artistic Contribution to World Cinema at the 43rd Karlovy Vary IFF in 2008.
